Financial Management Workshop in Uganda


It was organized by FIGO LOGIC (Leadership in Ob/Gyn for Impact and Change) initiative in Maternal and Newborn Health in collaboration with Mango (Management Accounting for Nongovernmental Organizations). The financial management training was intended for Non Finance Managers and Finance Officers who were to achieve some objectives thus have an important role to play in ensuring effective and proper use of finances. Prof Dr Heera Tuladhar, Treasurer NESOG, Ms Shikha Thapa, Project Coordinator, FIGO LOGIC, Mr Pritam Shrestha, Finance/ Office Secretary were the participants from NESOG

Project Management Workshop in Maputo

The workshop was a part of the LOGIC initiative in Maternal and Newborn Health supported by FIGO, which was participated by Prof Ashma Rana, President, Dr Sheela Verma, Vice President, Prof Neelam Pradhan, General Secretary and Dr Saroja Pandey, Joint General Secretary NESOG from Nepal. Other participating countries were Nigeria, Ethiopia, Uganda and Burkina Faso and Mozambique (the host country).

This workshop dealt with Project Management skills: Preparing work plans, which was facilitated by Greta Jensen. Approaches used were Gantt chart, SMARTening indicators {(Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Reliable and Time Bond) or [SMARTER adding ER to SMART made Enjoyable (E) and Rewarding(R)]} and SPICED indicator (Specific Participatory Interpretation Checked Empowering Diverse).
